The Toowoomba Hockey Association is running a Rookey Development Coaching Clinic targeted toward children aged between 8-11 years that have played hockey previously. Details as follows: Date: Saturday, 25th February 2012 Time: 1.00pm – 4.00pm Where: Clyde Park, Toowoomba Hockey Centre Cost: $40.00 which includes a t-shirt, fold out backyard hockey goal, participation certificate, water bottle, coaching and sausage sizzle at the end of the session. Come and meet former Olympian Karen Smith who will be coaching at the clinic! Karen was born and played hockey in Toowoomba. She has participated in 271 international matches and scored 48 international goals. Karen was a member of the Australian hockey squad (Hockeyroos) from 1996-2006, member of the 2006 Commonwealth Games Hockey team (gold), member of the 2006 World Cup Hockey team (silver), member of the 2004 Olympic Hockey team in Athens, member of the 1998 World Cup Hockey team (gold), member of the Queensland Academy of Sport 1994 – 2006, captained Queensland Scorchers National Hockey League team 2004 -2005, Vice-Captain of the Junior World Cup Team in 1997. There will be an opportunity for photographs and autographs after the session. There are limited places, so register as soon as possible or before Friday, 3rd February.
